Well done to Hannah who had perfect attendance this year.
Ayslah was only absent for one day this year.
Gloria, Amy, Gergana, Riya, Yuliia and Mariam won prizes in the Attendance Draw.
We had great fun at our annual Sports Day. Thank you to all the teachers who organised the different events: soccer, relay race, rounders, tug o' war, sprint racing, long-distance race, sack race and egg and spoon race. Ms Mc Cahill gave a very informative talk on the sugar content of some of our favourite drinks.
As a treat, we had a delicious tub of ice cream.
Today was our last day of The Bike Green Cycling Programme. Thank you to Francis and Paul for your patience. All of us now know how to cycle. Today's challenges were to duck under a pole while cycling and then to score the most points in a specially designed throwing contest.
We were invited to Cavan Library to listen to the amazing storyteller Fiona Dowling. She entertained us with a variety of stories and songs in many languages.
Third Class visited Cavan Fire Station. Connor and Andrew showed us the life-saving equipment. We each got a go at using the hose.
It was great fun.
We learned about onomatopoeia in our English poetry lessons. Onomatopoeia is a word that phonetically imitates, resembles or suggests the sound that it describes. We coloured some examples.
The girls in 3rd Class had the chance to meet the author Jackie Burke who wrote 'The Secrets of Grindlewood'.
